Indicative round-trip times measured from inside Nepal. Your results will vary by network and route.
Under the hood
We run our own machines in Kathmandu. That is why the latency is what it is, why we can restore your data ourselves, and why support can actually look at the server your site is on.
Distance costs time. When a Nepali visitor opens a site hosted in Singapore, Frankfurt or Virginia, every single request — the HTML, each stylesheet, each image, each database-backed page — crosses that distance and comes back. The delay is small on any one request and obvious once a page needs dozens of them.
AstraCloud runs its infrastructure inside Nepal, so that round trip stays local. The practical effect is not a benchmark number on a marketing page: it is that pages feel immediate rather than sluggish, that WordPress admin screens stop crawling, and that checkout and form submissions come back quickly enough that people finish them. For a business whose customers are mostly Nepali, this is usually the single largest speed improvement available, and it costs nothing extra.
AstraCloud isn't only for Nepal. We serve customers around the world, and wherever your audience sits, you get the same platform, billing and support. The control panel, the billing and the support are the same wherever the server runs.
A cheap plan that excludes the things every site needs is not cheap. The following are part of hosting here rather than paid extras:
Most Nepali hosting is WordPress hosting with the word “cloud” in front of it. WordPress is supported properly here — one-click installs, tuned PHP, phpMyAdmin, staging-friendly file tools — but it is not the only thing that runs.
Node.js, Python, Django, Go, Java, .NET, Rust, Deno, Bun and Elixir applications deploy from a Git repository: connect a repo, push, and the platform installs dependencies, builds and restarts the service. Build and start commands, environment variables, custom domains and automatic SSL are all handled in the panel. If you are a developer who has been renting a bare VPS purely because shared hosting could not run your stack, that is the gap this closes.
Plans are priced in NPR. You are billed in your own currency, so the amount does not move because an exchange rate did.
Payment is by eSewa, Khalti or bank transfer. An international credit card is not required — which is the practical barrier that stops a lot of Nepali businesses and students using overseas hosts at all.
Domains, including .com.np, can be registered and managed in the same panel as the hosting, so DNS, SSL and renewals are not spread across three different providers.
It fits a business whose customers are in Nepal and who wants the site to feel fast for them; anyone anywhere in the world who wants dependable hosting and support they can actually reach; a developer who needs a runtime shared hosting will not give them; an agency reselling hosting to its own clients; and anyone currently paying an overseas provider for a site they can no longer get help with.
It suits you less well if you need a specific compliance certification, a managed enterprise SLA with contractual penalties, or a region we do not operate in. Those are worth saying out loud rather than discovering after you have migrated.
